CS Executive Exam - An Overview

CS Executive Exam is part of the three-tier CS qualification process, and this is the second level exam, which focuses on subjects such as Company law, tax and corporate management. The CS Executive exam is conducted two times a year (May/June & November/ December), and ICSI always opens the CS Executive registration window throughout the year. The CS Executive Registration for the June 2025 session is open till January 31, 2025. The deadlines are January 31, 2025, for May/ June session exams and July 31, 2025, for November/December session exams every year. The CS Executive Exam is a national-level exam.

CS Executive Exam 2025 - Eligibility Criteria

A CS aspirant must meet the following eligibility criteria as prescribed by ICSI

1.     Should be above 17 years of age

2.     Should have passed the CS Foundation level or ICSI CSEET exam

3.     Direct entry candidates should possess a Bachelor or Masters degree

4.   Candidates who have cleared the final level of ICMAI of ICAI must have done CPT of the ICAI.

5.   Arts, Commerce, and Science (excluding Fine Arts)

6.   Candidates who are appearing for the first year are also eligible

CS Executive Exam 2025 - Registration

ICSI allows two routes to register for the CS Executive exam: The foundation/ CSEET route and the direct entry route. As per ICSI, the Company Secretary course is at a three-tier level: CS Foundation/ CSEET, CS Executive, and CS Professional. CS Executive aspirants are expected to pass the first level, which is CS Foundation / CSEET. The direct entry route candidates are those who have completed their graduation/post-graduation in Corporate Secretary ship or Commerce or in any discipline other than Fine Arts. Such candidates can directly register for the CS Executive course and exam.

Exam Pattern

The CS Executive exam includes both objectives (20%) and descriptive (80%) types of questions. Objective-type questions are rewarded one mark for each correct answer, and 0.25 is deducted for each wrong response. There are no negative marks for descriptive/subjective questions. Students may choose the language of their choice, either in Hindi or English, based on their preference. Papers like Business Management, Ethics and communication, Tax laws and practice, cost, Financial and strategic management papers, Corporate and management, and accounting have the English language compulsory.

CS Executive Exam 2025 - Passing Criteria/ Qualifying Percentage

A minimum of 40% in each paper and a total of 50% in all papers is expected to qualify for the CS Executive exam. Passing marks are declared by the ICSI, and candidates who secure this passing mark will only be treated as a "Pass" for the next level - the CS Professional exam.  The CS Executive syllabus is uploaded by the ICSI on its official website.

CS Executive Exam 2025 - Documents Required

The following documents are required for CS Executive exam registration. Ensure that you have scanned copies of the documents before filling out the application form.

● Date of Birth Certificate (Class 10 certificate)

● ID proof (Aadhar card/PAN card/ driving license/ration card)

● Admit card for the Class 12 exam

● Category Certificate (other than general)

● Qualification Certificate ( Class 12 mark sheet/ certificate of ICAI/ ICMAI final pass certificate/ Graduation pass certificate/ Graduation Consolidated mark sheets/ Post Graduation pass certificate/ Consolidated mark sheets)

Here are the specifications for the required documents:

The accepted formats for all the files are jpg, jpeg, png, gif,bmp, and pdf. The file size should not be larger than 2 MB. The photograph should be a recent one, and the size should be between 20 Kb and 50 Kb, and the signature file of the students should be upto 20 Kb. The size and format specified should be strictly followed while filing the CS Executive admission form.

CS Executive Exam 2025 - Registration

CS Executive exam has two modules, and each module has eight papers, which include both objective and descriptive types of questions for a total of 100 marks.  Each paper is given a duration of 3 hours and 100 marks. Students who meet the required eligibility criteria may proceed with the ICSI CS Executive exam registration using the following steps: To initiate the registration process, the candidates must visit the ICSI website: www.icsi.edu.

Registration 2025: Key steps

Step 1 - go to the ICSI, formal website then click on the "Online Services" option on the menu bar.

Step 2 - Click on the "Foundation/ Executive Registration "link.

Step 3 - Candidates who are registering for the first time should click "Register for CS Course," and those who have completed the CSEET exam should click "Registration for CSEET passed students in CS executive program."

Step 4 - First-time users fill out the basic details and generate a unique ID. Precede filling up the other details.

Step 5 - Upload the required documents and check the fee details

Step 6 - Preview the application and review. Edit for any changes if only required and save changes. Complete the payment and save the transaction ID for future reference.

CS Executive Exam 2025 - Admit Card
