For candidates to sit for the Jan 2025 CA Intermediate test, they need to fulfil the following requirements:

By way of the CA Foundation Pathway

• A passing score on the CA Foundation Examination is a requirement for the candidates' educational background.
• Registration is needed to enrol in the CA Intermediate program with ICAI.
• Candidates are only qualified to take the test if they have studied for at least eight months after registration.

Via the Direct Entry Path

• Graduates and postgraduates in commerce: You must have received at least 55% of your total points to graduate or postgraduate.
• Other Graduates/Postgraduates: Must have received at least 60% of the possible points in total. Candidates who have completed either the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) or the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) Intermediate Level Examination are also eligible.
• Articleship: Before taking the CA Intermediate examinations, candidates must complete an articleship or at least nine months of practical training.

Transient Enrollment

The Intermediate course is tentatively open to candidates in their last year of graduation. But, to be qualified for the Intermediate test, individuals must provide documentation that they passed the graduation exam with the necessary score.
