Self-Paced Online Module

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has launched the ICAI Self-Paced Online Module exam, which has four compulsory subjects required for the CA Final students to be eligible for the final exam. The Self-Paced Module exams are conducted online, allowing students to take them at their convenience or comfort from their homes. It is structured to give students extraordinary access to solve difficulties required in the CA education program. Four modules in the Self-Paced Module exam are divided into sets:

• Set A, set B.
• Set C.
• Set D. Students can access these modules using the Learning Management System (LMS) interface ICAI provides.

To prepare for each module, learning hours are set to pass the ICAI Self-Paced exam and become eligible for the CA Final; students must score at least 50 % marks in each set in the SPOM exam. Through the ICAI Digital Learning Campus Portal, students can access lectures, high-quality learning materials, and examinations through the Self-Paced Online Module. Several opportunities are provided to educators by these modules, one of which is the ease with which they can obtain professional development without paying for travel or accommodation. After purchasing, candidates have up to six months to review the modules. The hyper-focused subjects are also included in these modules but are not usually covered in IB professional development workshops and events.

Self-Paced Online Module Breakdown

In the Self-Paced Online Module (SPOM) exam, set C and set D are two of the four modules that CA Final students must complete to prepare for their exams.

Module C—In module C, there are ten subjects, including Public Finance, Sustainable Development, Risk Management, etc. Students must choose one topic from the given list.

Module D—This module covers four subjects: psychology and Philosophy, Entrepreneurship and Start-Up Ecosystem, the Indian Constitution and art of Advocacy, and Digital Ecosystem and Controls. Students are allowed to choose any one topic from a given number of options.

Self-Paced Module Test (SPMT) Portal 

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has developed the Self-Paced Module Test (SPMT) Portal, a new significance scheme designed for students. This portal is used by those students who have completed the learning hours required for the Self-Paced Module exam. The objective of the ICAI is the same as that of introducing the SPMT portal, which provides a flexible student-centred examination system. Students may access the portal at https://spmt.icai.org. Set A- Economic Laws

Set B- Strategic Cost Management and Performance Evaluation

Set C- Specialization Elective

Set D- Incorporating the Multi-Disciplinary approach envisaged in NEP, 2020

Features of the SPMT Portal

1. Scheduling Relaxation-In SPOM, exams are held every day so that students can select exam day, date, time, and city anytime according to their wishes from the various options. 
2. Computer-Based Testing-SPOM exams are Computer-Based Test conducting online on desktop computers or laptop sitting anywhere at home. It is having particular format in Computer Based Test centres.

How to access the Self-Paced Online Module 

It is easy to access the ICAI SPOM. Follow the steps given below for access-

Steps 1- Click the link – https://lms.icai.org/login to visit the ICAI Digital Learning Campus Portal. Here you will access the SPOM module.

Step-2 Next, OTP is sent to your registered number and by filling this OTP, you will get login toSelf- Service Portal (SSP) of the ICAI. You will only receive OTP if you are registered student. 

Step 3- Now; sign in with SSP login details to have great access of SPOM modules.

Passing Criteria for ICAI Self-Paced Module Exam 

There is certain criteria in which student needs to meet for passing the ICAI SPOM exam. here, in SPOM, there are total four sets in which set A and set B are compulsory to attempt whereas other two sets; set C and set D have numerous options from which students can choose any one subjects. Here what is more to know about clearing the exam is-

1. Candidates must achieve minimum 50% of marks in each module of SPOM to be considering an eligible for the CA Final exam.
2. There is no specified limit to take the Self-Paced Module Exam; students can attempt this exam as many times as they need.
3. There is no negative marking in Self-Paced Module exam for incorrect answer.
